From Physical Signals to Data Streams
I'm Aldo Rizkiawan. My engineering path began in Geophysics Engineering at ITS Surabaya, where I spent years analyzing wave propagation, modeling earth systems, and decoding signal noise under uncertainty.
That background gave me a distinct edge in software: I treat large distributed backend architectures as complex physical systems where latency, signal loss, and concurrency race conditions must be carefully bounded.
Over the past 7 years, I've built real-time fraud engines at Tokopedia (saving ~120M IDR/month), streamlined document automation at EximBank, and launched insurance & developer documentation platforms at Grab.
When I'm not writing Golang or C#, I'm shooting 35mm film photography through Xenosumedia and coding privacy-first browser utilities.

Grab Current
- Ride Cover Plus (PH Insurance): Led full engineering lifecycle to launch Grab's Ride Cover Plus in the Philippines. Managed cross-team delivery (PMs, Data Analysts) and integrated 3rd-party insurer APIs. Achieved ~31,000 transactions in the first 2 weeks.
- Company-wide Tech Documentation Site: Founding engineer of Grab's technical documentation hub. Prepared migration strategies and infrastructure, moving all docs to Hugo SSG with fast AI search & MCP integration for daily company-wide use.
- Content & Dev Sync Automation: Built auto-sync workflow between content managers and frontend platforms. Standardized translation keys globally, eliminating cross-team friction and manual review cycles.
- Tech Service Entity Catalog: Contributed to service relationship mapping, cost metrics, API ownership, and documentation catalogs across Grab's engineering teams.
Tokopedia
- Account Security Core: Key member of the Account Security Team, safeguarding the ecosystem from account takeovers, social engineering, and unauthorized access.
- Real-Time Fraud Detection Engine: Conceptualized and built rule-based fraud detection pipeline using Golang, Redis, PostgreSQL, NSQ, and Neo4j graph database. Prevented system abuse, resulting in ~120M IDR monthly savings for Tokopedia users.
- Fraud Admin Console: Built user-friendly ReactJS dashboard for risk analysts and business teams to evaluate rule performance, reducing manual review time by 90%.
- Incident Reporting Service: Developed incident aggregation service (PagerDuty/DB) in Golang & SMTP, providing crucial benchmark leadership reporting for MTTA & MTTR across all Tokopedia tribes.
EximBank (Indonesia Export Import Bank)
- Paperless Document Workflow: Engineered web application for document handling, approval, and delegation, significantly boosting workflow efficiency by eliminating physical paperwork.
- EximBank x PLN Portal: Designed and developed a web application to facilitate export/import insurance processes and workflows between EximBank and PLN.
